scuba diving mask

I’m fairly new to the sport of swimming. Actually, I only took up swimming because I want to do a triathlon. My swimming skills are pathetic. In fact, I only learned how to swim or more like struggling to stay afloat a year ago. The first day of swim class I use a scuba diving mask instead of goggles. Boy that was embarrassing.

Prior to joining the swim class, I didn’t know the difference between a scuba diving mask and goggles. Actually, I know the difference but I thought you can use them interchangeably. I thought you can dive with goggles and swim with a diving mask. The difference between a mask and goggles is a mask covers your nose while goggles only cover your eyes. When you use diving mask to swim you won’t be able to breathe through your nose. You will only be able to exhale and inhale using your mouth. When learning how to swim it is important that you inhale through your mouth and exhale through your nose.
